Dr. Elizabeth S. Gunn is Dean of the School of Liberal Arts, Sciences, and Business at Nevada State University where she leads the institution’s largest academic unit. With more than 20 years of experience in higher education, she has held faculty, administrative, and leadership positions at Nevada State University, Rutgers University, and Morgan State University. Dr. Gunn’s work focuses on academic affairs, student success, strategic planning, shared governance, and system-level policy implementation. She currently serves as Chair of the Nevada System of Higher Education’s Task Force on Power-Based Violence, leading statewide efforts to strengthen policy, practice, and institutional effectiveness across Nevada’s public higher education system. She holds a PhD in Romance Languages and Literatures from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, an MBA from Johns Hopkins University, an MFA from the University of Baltimore, an MA from Middlebury College, and a BA from Wesleyan University. Outside her academic leadership roles, Dr. Gunn is a distance runner, avid hiker, and poet.
