Reauthorizing Programs for Continuing Distance Delivery During COVID-19

The flexibility provided by the U.S. Department of Education to offer educational programs online in response to the COVID-19 pandemic is scheduled to end December 31, 2020 and may not be extended. NWCCU has developed a fast process to allow most of our institutions to obtain approval to continue to offer online programming.

    • Institutions already authorized for distance education simply need to notify NWCCU of any face-to-face program that will be transitioned to distance delivery. This can be done using the program list in the Institutional Portal.
    • Institutions that have not been authorized for distance education will need to submit a minor substantive change request to obtain authorization to provide distance education.
