V6I3: Welcome New Presidents

President, Paul Jarrell, Tillamook Bay Community College 

Dr. Paul Jarrell became president of Tillamook Bay Community College on February 9, 2024. Dr. Dr. Jarrell has been at TBCC for a year and a half as the Vice President of Instruction and Student Services. Prior to his time at TBCC, he served as Executive Vice President of Lane Community College. 

Dr. Jarrell has a Ph.D. in biology from the University of Oregon and 30 years of experience in higher education as a faculty member, dean, and vice president.  

 

Interim President, Rebecca “Becky” Johnson, Linfield University 

Dr. Rebecca “Becky” Johnson was appointed interim president of Linfield University on January 1, 2024. became president of Tillamook Bay Community College on February 9, 2024. Dr. Johnson served as Oregon State University’s interim president during the 2021-22 academic year. Before that, she spent 12 years as an OSU vice president and the top administrator at the university’s Cascades Campus in Bend. 

Dr. Johnson holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Wisconsin, and both a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in agricultural economics from Michigan State. 

 

President, Matt Seimears, Lower Columbia College 

Dr. Matt Seimears became president of Lower Columbia College on January 3, 2024. He previously served as the Dean of the College of Education at Eastern Oregon University and was appointed Interim Provost at EOU in 2022. 

Dr. Seimears has a bachelor’s degree from Pittsburg State University, a master’s degree from Wichita State University, a second bachelor’s degree from Newman University, and a Ph.D. from Kansas State University. 

 

President, Robert W. Wagner, Idaho State University 

Dr. Robert W. Wagner became president of Idaho State University on January 29, 2024. He previously served as the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at Utah State University. 

Dr. Wagner holds a Ph.D. in Political Science from State University of New York at Albany, a Master of Public Administration from the University of Utah and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Brigham Young University. He has also completed programs in leadership at Harvard University and Arizona State University.

 

Interim President, Courtney R. White, Utah Tech University 

Dr. Courtney R. White was appointed interim president of Utah Tech University on January 3, 2024. He previously served as the Associate Vice President of Executive Affairs/Chief of Staff and secretary to the Board of Trustees. 

Dr. White earned an associate degree from Snow College, a bachelor’s degree from Utah State University, a master’s degree from the University of Utah, and a law degree from the University of Oregon.
